The week or two of summer video game announcements has come and gone. I watched Indie Mix, Sony’s State of Play, Summer Games Fest, Day of the Devs, Future Games Show, Xbox Games Showcase, and the PC Gaming Showcase. This is just going to be a quickfire list of games that caught my eye. You can easily find all of the trailers and links to the full showcases at Games Recap.
Indie Mix
I had time to check this out. They showed trailers for over 50 games, and it was a good resource for what indie games are coming out. I had no expectations going in, but I came out impressed.
Infamous Keepers was the first game during the showcase I perked up for. I like some good tower defense action. The concept of playing a dungeon keeper defending his lair from heroes sounds fun. Comes out Q1 of 2027 for PC.

Canyons looks like a fun, supernatural, action adventure game. It has shooting, it has melee, and it has monsters. Comes out next year for PC.
Paperhead gives off some Drawn to Death vibes, but it might actually be good. Unlike Drawn to Death, Paperhead is a single player game. The trailer looked great and full of heavy metal and action. It comes out 9/18/2026 for PC, Xbox, and PS5.
Dioxide looks like a decent shooter. The narrative of “You will die and you will be reprinted” sounds interesting. There’s no release date, but it’s coming to PC.
Wonderfall is about a boy in 1920’s London who can manipulate sand. Something is eating at the city, and his powers can help. It sounds like a fun narrative adventure game. Comes out later this year for PC.
Edenfall: Legacy of the First Wardens has some cool looking combat. You can change into animals, seemingly at will, which gives you different moves. It looks like a lot of fun. It’s coming to PC’s Q4 of this year.
State of Play
I was hoping for a little more from PlayStation, but it was a solid show. I didn’t leave hungry.
Wolverine looks good. It looks bloody. I wish it had more gore, and there is a chance it does. Otherwise, it’s what I expected from Insomniac. Comes out 9/15/2026 for PS5.
No Rest for the Wicked still looks good. It’s nice to have a release window for this ARPG. Slated to exit Early Access in October for PS5, Xbox, and PC.
I’ve never been into the Stuntman series, but it’s kind of exciting to see it back. No release date for Stuntman: Hollywood, but it is coming to PS5 and PC.
God of War Laufey leaked, but I wasn’t excited for it at the time. After seeing it in action, I’m excited. Fey can jump, and her combat looks more akin to old God of War, then new. Too bad there’s no release date. It’s coming to PS5 at some point.

Summer Game Fest, Day of the Devs and Future Games Show
These games came from the various shows, including Summer Game Fest. I just thought it best to lump them all together.
Code Veronica on PS2 has been the only Resident Evil game I’ve played. With that said, I’m into the games, and have watched several playthroughs and lore videos for the series. I’m hyped for for the remake, Resident Evil Veronica. Comes out next year for everything.
I liked ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, so I’m always hyped when the creator of those games announces a new game. We got the name of his new game. Gen Atlas looks like a game by him. It will come to Xbox, PS5, and PC at some point.
The adaptive cover system in Crossfire looks slick. It looks like a good third person shooter as well. It’s coming to Xbox, PS5, and PC at an unknown date.
The N64 podracing game was fun, and Star Wars: Galactic Racer looks like that game had a baby with Burnout. I’m excited for it. Comes out 10/6/2026 for PS5, Xbox, and PC.
After many years of being shafted by Ubisoft, the creator of Assassin’s Creed is finally able to finish this 1666 Amsterdam. We need a NoClip documentary on this game. There’s no release date, but the prologue is available on Steam now. It sounds like it is only coming to the PC.

Blood of Dawnwalker looks like a good vampire morality story. Gameplay looks nice and bloody. Comes out 9/2/2026 for PC, PS5, and Xbox.
Finally, we get some solid information on Wolf Among Us 2 and Wolf Among Us Remastered. I loved the first game. I’m looking forward to replaying it through the remaster, and I’m hyped for the sequel. The remaster comes out later this year, and the sequel comes out next year for PS5, Xbox, and PC.
Prove You’re Human sounds like a good narrative adventure game. I always enjoy a good philosophy game on what makes humans human. No release date, but will be coming to PC.
Screenbound has a neat looking gimmick. You’re in a 3D world, and you are playing classic style games on a portable system. You’re moving in your 3D space, but you are also moving in the game. It comes out 9/10/2026 for PC, Xbox, and PS5.
The Lift looks and sounds pretty satisfying. I really suggest watching the Day of the Devs deep dive just to experience the sounds. It has some creepy vibes, but the entire world is tactile. Bringing the world back to life by repairing and cleaning things looks fun. Comes out next year for Xbox, PS5, and PC.
Exodus was announced a few years ago. It’s being made by a lot of Mass Effect people, and it sure looks like it. I’m excited for it. Comes out Q1 2027 for Xbox, PC, and PS5.
Xbox Games Showcase
Despite the depressing news happening around Xbox before and after this event, they put on a good showcase. I came away excited for there lineup.
Gears of War: E-Day looks like a Gears of War game, and I’m down for it. Did we need this game? Probably not. I don’t care. It’s nice to have a release date. 10/6/2026 for Xbox and PC.
Fable looks really good. They seem to have captured the vibes of the original games. Looking forward to it on 2/23/2027 for Xbox, PS5, and PC.
I’ve tried to understand why I don’t really like the Halo series, and keep coming back without an answer. Maybe Halo: Campaign Evolved can help me understand. Comes out 7/28/2026 for Xbox, PS5, and PC.
Let’s just focus on Senua, and not bad news that followed. I’m always excited for a new Ninja Theory game. I need to play the second Hellblade, but Senua looks good. I hope Ninja Theory can get this game out. If Ninja Theory survives, it should come out next year for Xbox, PS5, and PC.
Magicians: The Devil’s Deal looks cool, but I’m waiting for actual gameplay before jumping on the hype train. The idea is cool, and the trailer has a Bioshock vibe to it. Comes out next year for Xbox, PS5, and PC.
Valor Mortis just looks neat. Magic, weapons, platforming, Napoleon. This first person game has its all. Comes out 10/13/2026 for Xbox, PS5, and Windows.

I’ve been hyped for Clockwork Revolution since the announcement trailer many years ago. I was really hoping for a release date this year. It’s sitting to release next year for Xbox and PC.
Nintendo Direct
I was hoping for some more Zelda or Mario news, but I guess I have to settle for a remake of one of the best games ever created.
A lot of people are shitting on the look of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, so that means this remake will be great. Every one hated the look of Wind Waker, and it’s the best Zelda game. It comes out to Switch 2 later this year.
